Useless Christmas Trivia

I know it's a little early to start the Christmas talk, but deal with it.

What popular Christmas song was originally written for Thanksgiving?

Jingle Bells. Originally called One Horse Open Sleigh, it was written in 1857 by James Pierpont for a Thanksgiving program at a Boston Sunday school.

On a tangent, I'm not sure why there aren't any Thanksgiving songs. At least I don't know of any.

What about Over the River and Through the Woods to Grandmother's house we come?

We used to sing that going over the Grandma's house every Thanksgiving.

I'm pretty sure Clam Caravan is the only Thanksgiving song Spinal Tap ever wrote.
