Toothpick Sculptures

All artists choose a medium to work in. For some it's painting, for others it's photography, for Stephen Backman of San Francisco, it's toothpicks. Not only are these sculptures unique, some are exceptionally cool. My favorite is the 13 foot long replica of the Golden Gate bridge. Made from 30,000 toothpicks, it took more than 2 years to complete. It is currently on display in the Ripley's Believe It Or Not! museum in Hollywood. This radio controlled yacht made from 10,000 toothpicks is also amazing. And as if that weren't enough, there is also a video of the yacht in motion. There are many more incredible sculptures including a streetcar, a replica of the Empire State Building, some portraits, and more. It's well worth your time to check them out.
