Quote of the Day

"If all the animals along the equator were capable of flattery, then Thanksgiving and Halloween would fall on the same date."

Respect will be given to the person who can identify the movie that this quote was from without looking it up.

Far more respect will be given to the person who can come up with the most plausible and/or entertaining explanation of what that means.

***Update***
We've had no guesses, so I'll just give up and say here you go:

Are you going to tell us the answer to this??

Oh yeah, I forgot all about this. It was Danny Ocean (George Clooney) in Oceans 12. I found a clip on youtube so I don't have to explain the scene any further. I'll just say that the first time I saw this, I had the same look on my face as Matt Damon. Now it's just funny though.

But I still don't get it about Thanksgiving and Halloween on the same day. Maybe you're not suppose to get it, but it's driving me crazy.

On another note...I hated this movie! I love Ocean's 11, but 12 just sucked. I felt like I was on the outside of an inside joke the entire movie. I haven't seen Ocean's 13 yet, but I don't really have high hopes for it.

I actually didn't like Ocean's 12 the first time I saw it either. They really tried to be too clever for their own good. There were so many plot twists that by the end of the movie, I really didn't know what happened. Upon a second viewing, it made a little more sense though and I liked it a little better. Ocean's 13 I didn't think was as good as 11, but a definite improvement over 12.

As for this scene, later in the movie, Matt Damon's mom said to him "I heard they pulled a 'lost in translation' on you." So as I understand it, Clooney, Pitt, and Hagrid (I don't know the actor's name, or the character's name in Ocean's 12, I just know he played Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies) were just making up nonsense to mess with Damon.

Okay at least it wasn't me being dense. I have the hardest time actually getting jokes. Most of the time people have to explain them to me and then they just aren't funny anymore.
