In Your Face Oregon

In a National Geographic article on the 50 best places to live: great adventure towns, Seattle edged out Coos Bay, OR for the top spot. I didn't read the criteria, but obviously they don't take traffic into account. Or 65 degree rainy days in August. And as if that weren't enough, Leavenworth and Bellingham made the list too. I don't know who comes up with these lists, but one thing is certain: people from other parts of the world love Seattle.

Actually Seattle isn't #1. It's in the top 12 cites on their list though. (top 12 are in bold)
-- Here are the 50 next great adventure towns, presented by region and in no particular order (our top 12 picks are shown in bold).

Coos bay didn't make the top 12, but Hood River Oregon did.

I would point out though that if you really had to move to a city on this list and stay in the pacific northwest, Coos bay is actually affordable relatively. Plus you're on the ocean...
Median home price: $180,000

Try as you might to discredit this survey and defend your beloved Oregon, the inability to pump your own gas, not to mention women who don't shave, will always keep Oregon below Washington in livability.

First off, Pat apparently can't read the list. Coos Bay DID make the list. However, I really don't understand why anyone would want to go to Coos Bay, Hood River OR Klamath Falls.

Secondly, I lost all respect for this list when Boston appeared in the top 12 in the east. Obviously, these people have no taste.

You pick on your husband, while he's right no less, about Coos Bay not being in the top 12 on the list.

But you let Scotty get away with the in your face Oregon comment. It's times like these I'm glad I was born in Seattle. Which unlike Coos Bay is in the top 12 on the list.......
