Benjamin Franklin, in 1790. It was a “slipper bath”—shaped like a shoe, with a heating device in the heel and a drain in the toe.
I assume that prior to that, people just washed themselves with a rag on a stick, or possibly wading in a river or lake, weather permitting. One thing is for certain though, that Ben Franklin was a visionary.
